What is a polypropylene camlock coupling used for?
Polypropylene (PP) camlock couplings are used for chemical transfer, irrigation, water supply, and applications where corrosion resistance or lower cost compared to metal couplings is important. They are lightweight and do not rust or corrode in most chemical environments.
What chemicals is polypropylene compatible with?
PP is resistant to most inorganic acids, alkalis, salts, and many organic chemicals. It is commonly used with fertilizers, pesticides, irrigation chemicals, and mild industrial chemicals. It is not suitable for aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, or concentrated oxidizing acids.
What is the maximum working pressure?
Working pressure is generally rated at 150 PSI (10 bar) for smaller sizes, with larger sizes rated lower. PP couplings have lower pressure ratings than equivalent metal couplings and should not be used in high-pressure systems.
